This Is Deeper Than a Book

Love Unlocked began as a book about self-acceptance and conscious relating. But the real change happens in the room. In the conversations. In the patterns we finally get honest about. That is what clinical coaching is for.

Hi, my name is Zac Spowart. I hold a Master's in Addiction Counseling from Hazelden Betty Ford and an MBA from Pepperdine, and I have been sober since 2006. I have spent nearly two decades helping people heal, come home to themselves, and dive deeper into the art of conscious relating and authentic connection. I have built treatment centers across the United States and held space for thousands of men and women around the world.

My approach is simple. I do not coach from theory alone. My clinical coaching draws on lived experience and clinical training, coming together. No judgment, no performance, no pretending. Just honest work toward the kind of connection that actually holds.

Who I Work With

Every relationship has its own architecture. I work with people and couples navigating the specific dynamics that generic advice never quite fits.

Anxious Meets Avoidant

The extroverted, anxious, attached partner and the introverted, avoidant one, caught in the pursue-and-withdraw loop. I help you understand each other instead of triggering each other.

Interracial, Interfaith & Cross-Cultural Couples

Two people from different races, religions, and cultural backgrounds building one shared life, without either of you having to disappear to do it.

Long-Distance Relationships

Staying genuinely connected, and genuinely honest, across the miles, the time zones, and the stretches of silence in between.

Age Gaps & Generational Differences

Couples bridging different life stages, references, and expectations, and turning the gap into something that actually works for both of you.

Intimacy, Physical and Emotional

How the two are wired together, why a wall in one shows up in the other, and how to rebuild real closeness in both.

Anyone Ready to Go Deeper

Anyone moving toward a deeper, truer version of themselves and what is possible in their relationships. If you feel the pull toward something more honest, you are in the right place.

When Escape Gets in the Way of Love

Here is where my clinical background comes in. So much of what damages a relationship is not the relationship itself. It is what we reach for to escape it.

Alcohol. Drugs. Pornography. Gambling. All the quieter escapes we tell ourselves are harmless. These patterns pull us out of connection and into numbing, and they rarely stay in their own lane.

As a Master's level addiction clinician, I help you look honestly at the frequency and the role of substance use and other escapisms, how they may or may not be affecting your relationship, and what it looks like to come back to real intimacy instead of running from it. No shame. Just honesty, and a way forward.

How Clinical Coaching Works

Dedicated time, one-to-one or with your partner, focused on where you actually are, not the pressure or fantasy of where you expect yourself or your partner to be.

Our first call is free, no pressure and no sales pitch, just two people talking about what is possible. Reach out anytime. I look forward to hearing from you, and joining you on this journey.

Questions People Ask

What is the difference between a relationship coach and a therapist?

Coaching is forward-focused and action-oriented. It is about where you are now and where you want to go, not diagnosis or treatment. My clinical training means I can recognize when something calls for therapy instead, and point you there honestly. Many people do both. Coaching builds momentum, therapy heals what is behind you.

What is clinical relationship coaching?

Clinical relationship coaching is conscious-relating coaching led by a clinically trained practitioner. It blends practical, forward-looking coaching with real grounding in attachment, addiction, and emotional regulation. You get the momentum of coaching with the depth and discernment of a Master’s-level clinician.

How much does relationship coaching cost?

Every engagement starts with a free introductory call, and pricing is shared there once we understand what you actually need. The investment varies by format, whether that is one-to-one, couples, or the 90-day container. Reach out and we will talk it through, no pressure and no sales pitch.

Do you offer coaching for couples online and worldwide?

Yes. I work with individuals and couples one-to-one and online, across time zones and continents. Whether you are long-distance, living between countries, or simply prefer meeting from home, the work happens wherever you are. All you need is privacy and a solid connection.

Can attachment styles really change?

Yes. Attachment styles are patterns, not life sentences. With awareness and consistent work, an anxious-avoidant or pursue-withdraw cycle can shift toward something more secure. It is not about fixing one person. It is about both people understanding the pattern and learning to meet each other differently.

Can a relationship survive addiction or recovery?

It can, but sobriety alone does not automatically heal a relationship. Getting clean removes the substance, it does not rebuild the trust and intimacy that were strained along the way. That part is rebuilt on purpose, with honesty and time. This is core to how I work, as both an addiction clinician and a relationship coach.
